mal ideje za srednjevesko fantazijsko zgodbo.

CHAPTER 1

The door to the courtroom open, revealing a crowd of lords, ladies and courtiers, talking loudly with eachother, eargerly awaiting what the king summed them for. The old Lord Howland Ashwynne, a 63 year old with grey hair, high chancellor of the Mountains, stands under the stairs leading to the throne, listening to people around him. Lord Towym Altharion, a 38 year old lord with short dark hair and a nicely trimmed beard, diplomat and advisor of the king, is talking with Sir Hadrian Kyrethor, a 26 year old tall blonde haired knight of the king, by the mighty pillars which hold the courtroom. "Today is a big day for the realm, my lord. if it all goes according to plan, the king will be on better terms with the lord of Khadran and peace shall reign in the lands." says sir Hadrian with a subtle smile. "The peace will reign for as long as the lords of the Mountains want it to reign, and-" lord Howland interrupts lord Towym's monologue: "And it will reign for as long as the king keeps his promises!". sir Hadrian greets lord Howland politely as lord Towym backs away and gives lord Howland an uninterested look. Sir Hadrian tries to speak but is silenced by the king, who stands up and looks around the court, starting his speech; "my lords and ladies, noblemen and noblewomen, today you witness the knighting of lord Aldric Ashwynne, son and heir of high chancellor Howland Ashwynne, the knight who will mend the kingdom of All. Never before has a follower of the mountain Gods been knighted in this court, let alone by someone who worships the fire God-" The attendees reply to the king with their hands on their chests; "May his fire protect the world!". The king repeats the prayer back to them before gesturing to lord Aldric to approach. Aldric glances at his father, before ascending the stairs and kneeling before the king. "Lord Aldric Ashwhynne," The king takes his sword, swings it over a fire next to his throne and puts it on Aldric's right shoulder "In the name of the God of fire-" he puts the sword on Aldric's left shoulder "In the name of the Mountain Gods-" he puts the sword on Aldric's head "And in the name of this kingdom, i name you a knight. I charge you to be brave, to fight for your king and to fight for your home. Rise a knight!" Lord Aldric rises as cheering erupts, he bows before the king and is escorted out of the courtroom by his father. "We did the right thing, father. The king will see this as an alliance, and so should we. It is the only way to mend the realm and keep the peace" says Aldric to his father, who stops and looks him in the eye; "Son, I did what I did not for peace but for power. If the king sees this as an alliance, he will be prepared to side with us... No matter the cost.". The king and Lord Towym sit in the council chambers drinking wine as lord Towym starts; "Your grace, knighting the boy was a good move, now the old lord Howland has a reason to cooperate with the crown, and I am sure his son will make him see reason in peace." He takes another sip of the wine as the door opens and a servant enter the room; "Your grace," he bows, looking upset "We have recieved word from Vahariq, it is urgent.". The king looks at Towym and laughs; "What now, the High Chancellor of Quamareth wants me to knight his son as well?" the servant continues, stammering "a- an envoy of the high chancellor was attacked yesterday by unknown soldiers. He blames lord Howland for the attack and has since called his banners to rally behind him. He-,well, he has declared lord Howland as a criminal and is marching into Khadran towards Hammerwatch..."
