Greece in the age of heroes. Patroclus, an awkward young prince, has been exiled to the court of King Peleus and his perfect son Achilles. Despite their differences, Achilles befriends the shamed prince, and as they grow into young men skilled in the arts of war and medicine, their bond blossoms into something deeper - despite the displeasure of Achilles's mother Thetis, a cruel sea goddess. But when word comes that Helen of Sparta has been kidnapped, Achilles must go to war in distant Troy and fulfill his destiny. Torn between love and fear for his friend, Patroclus goes with him, little knowing that the years that follow will test everything they hold dear.

Name one hero who was happy. You can't"
"I can't"
"I know. They never let you be famous and happy. I'll tell you a secret"
"Tell me"
"I'm going to be the first. Swear it"
"Why me?"
"Because you're the reason. Swear it"
"I swear it"
"Have you not any memories?" (nekaj takega)
"I am made of memories"
We were like gods at the dawning of the world, and our joy was so bright we could see nothing else but the other

Najlepše napisana knniga, kar sem jih kdaj prebrala.
Madeline Miller res zna z besedami.
Z lahkoto jo kličem Romeo in Julija Antičnih časov.

Left me sobbing for 3 hours po treh letih brez jokanja :) Fantastična knjiga. If you know you know: What has Hector ever done to me? *i*I am made of memories.*i* pa He is half of my soul as the poets say. Vsakič ko slišim Achilles come down slišim Patroculusa kako to poje :sob: Istg ena najboljših knjig, ki sem jih kadarkoli prebrala
